Torre Incinae The photographs have been shot in the border area between two towns, Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, as well as the work of research and exploration. This seaside area called “Torre Incina” takes its name from an old lookout tower used in the past to defend the inland. At first a tuff quarry then a landfill, the environment with its varied setting goes on transforming itself over and over. Nature, silently, seems to regain its spaces attacking and invading the place with its wild vegetation. Strong are also the tacks of humans: cultivated fields and small abandoned buildings along with a lively flow of solitary fishermen, fortuitous tourists or bathers that practice naturism. The flow of people is mixed with the stillness of the area that has become a meeting place for voyeurs and curious.
